Modernizing Army Fitness Through AFT App

SEPTEMBER 10, 2026 – On July 20, 2026, members of the Army Training Information System (ATIS) team joined the Army Geospatial Intelligence Battalion at Fort Belvoir to test the Army Fitness Test app (AFT Go). The testing helped validate core functionality while gathering user feedback to support the Army‑wide planned release of AFT Go in fall 2026.

AFT Go streamlines how units upload Army Fitness Test (AFT) scores directly into ATIS in real time from their training locations, improving accuracy and simplifying score management. Its user‑friendly design allows Soldiers to quickly access and track their fitness data, and seamless ATIS integration ensures scores are correctly recorded for better oversight of Soldier fitness records. ATIS also gives units fast, reliable access to fitness guidance and resources through the Leader Tool interface.

For Army leaders, AFT Go provides the ability to conduct the entire AFT from a mobile device. The app guides users through every event and makes planning, recording and completing the test efficient. Once the test is completed, results will automatically update authoritative Army systems, including the Soldier’s Individual Training Record, eliminating duplicate data entry as part of the fall 2026 release.

Beta testers praised AFT Go for its intuitive design, and they noted how much time is saved through direct uploads. They found that calculating scores automatically and submitting those scores with the press of a button made the app easy to use.

AFT Go is an essential Army tool that modernizes how Soldiers and leaders manage fitness training data and strengthen mission performance. Continuous user feedback will drive ongoing improvements.

“We put the Soldier first in everything we do,” said Ms. Christie Murphy, product manager for ATIS. “Continuous, live user feedback helps us improve Soldier-facing software and rapidly deliver capability to enhance readiness across the Total Army.”

ATIS is the Army’s authoritative training data system, providing tools to record, manage and report individual and unit training information. It serves as a single-entry point for training records—from weapons qualifications to mandatory training and Mission Essential Task assessments—reducing Soldiers’ digital burden and giving leaders more time to lead.

All ATIS tools are available through the ATIS Portal Page at https://ATIS.army.mil.
