April 7, 2014, NATIONAL HARBOR, MD. – The Sea Air Space Exposition begins today with record attendance levels including more government employees and uniform military personnel than have attended in the history of the exposition. More than 202 defense industry businesses and 20 Navy commands will attend the exposition.
According to Executive Director Kevin Traver, “Sea Air Space offers a format that provides compelling content for the men and women who serve in today’s Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. They can hear first hand from the most senior military leaders in their organizations and can learn about some incredible futuristic technology.”
On April 7th the following topics will be discussed:
• Electromagnetic railgun, which fires projectiles from electromagnetic pulses instead of traditional charges. This is “game changing technology.”
• A process allowing the Navy to turn sea water into jet fuel to propel aircraft
• A Marine Corps V-22 Osprey will land at The Gaylord National Harbor
Traver added, “This is an opportunity for attendees to take advantage of a day away from their typical routine and focus on the future direction the services are heading. This is interesting material for uniformed service members and military civilian employees.”
