Army to Live-Stream Forums at AUSA Annual Meeting

WASHINGTON (Army News Service, Oct. 10, 2014) – Soldiers unable to attend this year’s Association of the U.S. Army’s Annual Meeting and Exposition here, Monday through Wednesday, in Washington, D.C., will still be able to see most presentations by senior Army leaders through live-streaming.

By going to http://www.army.mil/professional/ilw/, viewers will see the events to be live-streamed on each day. At the bottom of each event page, viewers will be able to send questions to panel members through social media outlets such as Twitter and Facebook.

Sgt. Maj. of the Army Raymond F. Chandler III is slated to hold a Non-commissioned Officer and Soldier Forum, 7-9 a.m., Monday, and it will be live streamed. Then the opening ceremony with keynote speaker Secretary of the Army John M. McHugh will be streamed beginning at 9:30 a.m., Monday. McHugh and Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno will also hold a press conference at 11:45 a.m., and it will be live-streamed.

All of the Institute of Land Warfare panels will be streamed.

“In order to help expand the audience beyond the National Capital Region, we are live-streaming a number of events to include every Contemporary Military Forum and Military Family Forum,” said Lt. Col. Michael Nicholson, of Army Public Affairs.

He noted that the family forums alone are already tracking more than 1,500 people from a number of installations across the U.S. and overseas who will be watching at central viewing locations.

Those locations are at Army Community Service offices or Family Assistance Centers and for the National Guard and Army Recruiting battalions, Family Readiness Groups will provide viewing locations.
