2010 – 2011 Ski Season

When it comes to vacation time, military personnel and their families want fun and adventure just like the rest of us do. Many ski resorts offer great deals and support to active duty personnel and Veterans.

Here are our top picks of the Ski resorts that support and welcome Military specific personnel:

Saddleback Mountain is located in Maine, and is one of New England’s finest family ski resorts. They offer a 2000 ft. vertical that is greater than several well-known and populated ski resorts, and has one of only 7 ski mountains in New England that reaches heights over 4000 ft.

Squaw Valley USA is located around the Lake Tahoe area and offers Military active-duty personnel free skiing. They also offer military-specific lodging as an option. Squaw Valley is also offering free ski lift tickets to active-duty military through their 2010-2011 winter season.

Diamond Peak Resort, also located near Lake Tahoe in Incline Village, is catered to offering kid friendly activities. They also offer free ski lift tickets to anyone with a Military I.D. The resort features breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe and is well known for teaching learning experiences for beginners.The resort covers 3,000 acres with a vertical drop of 2,280 feet. Program Details: Anyone who has served in the military (Active and Retirees) is eligible to receive a FREE Diamond Peak lift ticket (midweek, non-holiday) and a $39 lift ticket weekends and holidays by showing a Military ID at Guest Services. Winter Park, Copper Mountain, and Steamboat are all resorts within the Colorado area that offer exclusive seasonal passes specifically catered to Military Personnel under the Patriot Pass and Patriot Pass Plus programs. Intrawest is offering their 2010-2011 season Patriot Pass and Patriot Pass Plus at a special price. Active duty and retired military, Reservist, National Guard, Coast Guard are eligible to purchase the Patriot Pass and Patriot Pass Plus season passes:

  • Patriot Pass – Unlimited skiing at Copper Mountain and Winter Park ($10 more than 2009-2010 season pass prices) Adult – $229, Child – $114
  • Patriot Pass Plus – Unlimited skiing at Copper Mountain and Winter Park – plus six days at Steamboat Springs ($10 more than 2009-2010 season prices) Adult – $239, Child – $124
