Military Spouse Work at Home Options

Military spouses may find it difficult to work outside of the house. This is for a variety of reasons. Most military couples have small children or have children in school. This limits the amount of time that a military spouse may have to devote to work outside of the home. Though some military bases do offer military spouse jobs on post these jobs still may have scheduling difficulties that may conflict with the spouse who is active-duty military or with the children. For this reason, many military spouses choose to work from home. If you are a military spouse is seeking a work-at-home option here are a few options to consider.

Customer Service

Customer service work from home positions are among the most popular work from home positions and possibly the easiest to obtain. If you have a landline phone or a phone for your cable company and if you have at least four hours a day of quiet undisturbed time then you can work from home and customer service. The average customer service telecommuting worker tends to make between eight dollars and $10 an hour. For a military spouse who can devote four hours a day five days a week they can clear between 200 and $300 depending on the company per week. This can be a significant benefit for military families who need the extra income.

Transcription

Transcription is a popular work-at-home position for many military spouses. One of the key reasons that transcription is a popular is because many transcription schools will offer special military funding for military spouses to attend their programs. This finding may cover all or some of the education and allow the military spouse to obtain a degree in legal or medical transcription. Some medical transcription companies such as career step will also offer at-home positions for their graduates. This means that if you have a few hours a day to devote to transcription you can create a sizable supplemental income for your military household.

Virtual Assistant Positions

Virtual assistant positions are an increasingly popular work-at-home option for many military spouses. The reason for this is due to the fact the virtual assistant positions require little to no phone work and can be done on the schedule of the military spouse. If you need to pick up the kids, if there is an emergency or if you are unable to utilize the phone you may still use the Internet in order to do your virtual assistant job. Some of the popular virtual assistant work-at-home positions are and freelance writing, medical billing and coding and in Internet of valuation positions.
