USPS Postal Exam 475: How to Prepare for a High Score

MAY 20, 2022 – USPS is the country’s second-largest employer and a great place to work because of the stability and variety of career paths available. Despite the abundance of employment opportunities, the competition for these positions is fierce. Because of this, postal service candidates are required to complete an obligatory online computerized exam.

Candidates for postal processing positions must take the USPS 475 exam. This article looks at tips and advice on how to pass the USPS postal exam 475.

USPS 475: What Is It?

USPS 475, also known as the Virtual Assessment MH 475, is a computerized exam used by the postal service to determine if a potential employee is qualified to work in mail handling.

Cognitive ability and psychometrics rather than intellect are tested in the USPS 475, which were formerly known as the 473 exams. Sections of the exam include the following:

Situations in the workplace

In this part, you’ll learn about the kinds of circumstances that Mail Handlers face daily and decide how you’d handle them if you were in their shoes.

Perform an Error Check

As a part of this section, you’ll be able to do a job-like verification of information.

Relocate the Postal Service

Assesses your ability to pay attention to the smallest of details to properly sort shipments and mail.

Your Story Matters to Us

Here, you’ll be asked questions about your educational and professional history.

Describe the Methodology You’re Using

Test your distinctive work style, teamwork and management habits, and attitude to work with this personality test!

All of these occupations need you to take the 475 as part of your application procedure:

  • Person in charge of handling mail
  • Casual mail handler
  • Assisting the mail carrier

The United States Postal Service (USPS) offers a wide range of employment opportunities, and mail processing is a common entrance point since it entails interacting with a variety of people.

Why pass the USPS 475 Exam?

To pass, you need at least 70 out of a possible 100 points. Candidates should strive for as many points as possible, not simply 70. The higher their score, the more likely they are to get to the top of the list of candidates and win the job.

The top three scorers in each job category will be contacted to proceed to the next round of the application process. Anyone who fails the test will be unable to retake it for at least a year after failing the first time.

You have a decent chance of doing well on the USPS exam if you have the proper background knowledge and have prepared well, which includes taking USPS mock exams. Having an idea of what the postal test 475 entails and what questions may be asked is the first step.

How to Pass the USPS Postal Exam 475

To succeed in passing the online 475 exams, you must first understand the fundamentals of passing them.

The following are some of the best preparatory tips:

Hone your exam and test-taking skills by practicing with previous examinations and tests

The easiest approach to prepare for the USPS test is to use the postal exam 475 study guide, which provide you with examples of common questions so that you can get a feel for how the questions are phrased.

Learn about the company’s values.

So, you’ll get a sense of exactly what qualities USPS is seeking in each employee and what kind of responses they anticipate from potential employees. Don’t forget to be honest with your replies.

The best way to improve your resume is to review it.

A few sections of the test will cross-reference with your résumé, including exam scores and tasks in each employment.

Make a habit of finding mistakes.

Errors and typos can help you in the test if you check for them when reading papers or surfing the internet.

Take on the role of a professional during the evaluation.

Practice answering the questions in the ‘Tell me about yourself’ section from a professional point of view before the exam to prepare for this aspect of the test.
