Toyota to Pay Off Vehicles for Three Soldiers

Toyota to Pay Off Vehicles for Three Soldiers

November 4, 2016 – This Veteran’s Day, Scion by Toyota, in partnership with Toyota Financial Services and the Valley Toyota Dealers Association, is surprising three local soldiers from Ahwatukee, Gilbert and Apache Junction by buying out their current two-year lease on each of their 2014 Scion by Toyota xB vehicles, a value of more than $53,000 (including taxes)! The veterans are not aware that their leases will be paid off. They will be honored and surprised with the news in a 9 a.m. impromptu ceremony at Big Two Toyota of Chandler on Nov. 11.

Two years ago, Toyota Financial Services, the Valley Toyota Dealers Association and Toyota Motor Sales teamed up with the Military Assistance Mission to host a video submission contest for military, giving deserving veterans that were in need of a vehicle to help them get back on their feet the opportunity to win a two-year lease. The public voted for the winners and Toyota provided these three veterans keys to the Scion by Toyota XB vehicles.

Fast forward to today, and these veterans—each of whom have an amazing story—will now have their vehicles to keep for as long as they want with no payments. The veterans include:

Abel Bautista (Ahwatukee)

Abel had a traumatic brain injury when he served in Afghanistan and today, he still suffers from seizures and PTSD as a result. The vehicle he received helped his entire family and especially his wife, as Abel wasn’t able to always drive due to medication he had to take.

William Bryan (Gilbert)

William joined the Army as a medic after high school and previously served in Afghanistan for one tour. The car he received was helpful to his entire family, alleviating extra stress and providing peace of mind.

Kurt Kronemeyer (Apache Junction)

Kurt was in the Army for 21 years was and served two tours, Desert Storm and Iraq. Afterwards, he couldn’t work due to his injuries and was struggling to get benefits with the VA. The vehicle was a huge improvement for him and his family, as he previously had to use a program to take him where he needed to go.

Date:
Nov. 11, 2016
Media and attendee arrival at 8:45 a.m.
Ceremony begins promptly at 9 a.m.

Location:
Big Two Toyota of Chandler
1250 S Gilbert Rd, Chandler, AZ 85286
