How Shutdown Affects Bases Overseas

OCTOBER 2, 2025 — A lapse in appropriations before the Sept. 30, 2025, deadline has forced portions of the government to close, including some services provided by the Garrison and its installations at Ansbach and Illesheim.

USAG Ansbach services may be limited, reduced or closed. Expect longer wait times at front-door services.

Army Community Service (ACS) centers at Katterbach and Storck Barracks will be closed with some limited essential services.

All emergency services, the commissary, all AAFES facilities, childcare and youth services, the health clinic, fitness centers, dining facilities (DFACs), post offices, shuttle service and the DoDEA schools will remain operating during normal hours. Normal gate hours continue.

The shutdown should have minimal impact on Soldiers, employees and families PCS-ing and transitioning to and from Ansbach, though there may be some delays in wait times.

For a list of office phone numbers and normal operating hours, use the USAG Ansbach mobile app or turn to the phone book at https://home.army.mil/ansbach/contact/garrison-phonebook.
