OCTOBER 7, 2024 – Overseas service members can mail their Casted Absentee Ballots to the U.S. for free using Priority Mail Express Military Service now through Dec.10.
“The Department of Defense, in collaboration with the United States Postal Service, is offering this expedited, complimentary service to ensure ballots from American citizens stationed or living overseas arrive in time for the upcoming elections,” said William Hossack, U.S. Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa Air Postal Squadron postal operations flight chief.
Customers must present their cast absentee ballots at a post office finance window to utilize this service.
Finance window clerks will issue an Express 11-DoD label, which includes a tracking number for customers to track the status of their ballots via the USPS website.
This service is available only to American citizens voting in the 2024 elections and cannot be used for other types of mail.
Due to the expected high mail volume for these elections, overseas customers are encouraged to mail their cast ballots early to ensure timely delivery.
Customers are advised to contact their local Air Force postmaster for additional information.
