NOVEMBER 13, 2014, PORTSMOUTH, Va. (NNS) – Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) and its branch clinics are now offering annual flu vaccine for all eligible TRICARE beneficiaries.
All flu vaccines – the FluMist nasal spray and the traditional injectable – administered at NMCP and its clinics protect against four strains of influenza.
Flu immunizations are available at the main medical center in Portsmouth at the Immunizations Clinic from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays. The clinic has extended hours on Tuesdays in November until 5:30 p.m.
Naval Station Norfolk Branch Clinic (formerly Sewells Point Clinic) offers flu vaccines Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; and on Fridays 7 a.m. to noon.
Adm. Joel T. Boone Branch Clinic at Joint Base Little Creek-Fort Story offers flu vaccines from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; flu vaccines are available on Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The clinic has extended hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays in November until 5:30 p.m.
Oceana Branch Clinic offers flu immunizations from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays. The clinic has extended hours on Mondays in November until 4:30 p.m.
Dam Neck Branch Clinic offers flu vaccines Monday through Thursday from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday hours are 7:30 to 11 a.m.
Northwest Branch Clinic offers flu vaccines from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Yorktown Branch Clinic offers flu vaccines Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Beneficiaries enrolled to TRICARE Prime Clinics in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake should call 1-866-MIL-HLTH (1-866-645-4584) to make an appointment for their flu vaccines.
