JUNE 2, 2025 – The US Army was officially established in 1775 and has since played a vital role not only for the American nation but also in the Bavarian footprint.
In 1945 the U.S. Army took over responsibility of the military training area in Grafenwoehr and has since become an integral part in the local community with over 50 established partnerships throughout Bavaria.
You are welcome to celebrate the 250th Army birthday with us here in Bavaria. Here is a list with upcoming birthday events here at USAG Bavaria:
Tower Barracks/Rose Barracks:
- Army Birthday Cake Cutting at the Tower Barracks Dining Facility, June 11 at 11 a.m.
- Dragoon Inn Warrior Restaurant 250th Army Birthday Lunch and Outreach event June 12, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- The Grafenwoehr Exchange is celebrating the U.S. Army 250th Birthday at the PX/Mall, Friday, June 13 from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Cake cutting at 11 a.m.
- Water Tower Open House, June 13, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Water Tower on Tower Barracks: Check out the Water Tower Museum and learn about the history of the Grafenwoehr Training Area and climb all the way to the top to enjoy the view overlooking Tower Barracks!
- Army Birthday with Child and Youth Services June 13, 3-5 p.m. at the child development and school age center in Netzaberg and Rose Barracks
- Army Birthday 5km Fun Run, June 14, 9 a.m. at the Tower Barracks Physical Fitness Center (Bldg.170) on Tower Barracks. Open to all ages. Free to participate.
- Army Birthday Bash; The Big 250, June 14, 6:30 p.m. until midnight at the Zone Café, the Zone Bar and the Warrior Zone. Enjoy birthday cake, specialty drinks, games, pool and more! Grab your friends for an incredible night out!
Hohenfels:
- The Army Birthday Bash: The Big 250 June 13, 10:45 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the rocket Park directly in front of the Hohenfels Bowling Center (Bldg. 14)
Garmisch:
- Army Birthday Celebration, June 13, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Pete Burke Community Center.
Ansbach:
