Marine Pay

The Marine Corps offers excellent pay and compensation for your hard work and dedication. Earnings depend on rank, educational level, and number of years in service. The longer you’re in, the more you earn!

Basic pay increases each year. In 2009, all service members received a pay raise of 3.9 percent effective Jan. 1. Under that raise, basic pay starts at $1,399.50 per month for enlisted members with less than four years of service.

Here a few ways that you can earn pay within the Marine Corps.

  • Enlisted Pay – during training or any time you’re deployed.
  • Drill Pay – Rates shown are for four drills, a typical weekend.
  • Retired Pay – Retirement pay for 20 + years.
  • Incentive and Special Pay – Pay and Incentives offered depending on field and location.
  • Marine Corps Sea Pay – All Navy and Marine Corps personnel entitled to basic pay and serving on sea duty are entitled to career sea pay.
  • Military Pay Overview – General Pay and allowances through the Military Service.

Note: Each service offers a bonus for enlistment and re-enlistment. What they offer now:

Enlistment Bonuses: Marine Corps ” Up to $15,000
Selective re-enlistment bonuses Marine Corps ” Up to $90,000
