Head
a. Uncorrected deformities of the skull, face, or mandible (754.0) of a degree that would prevent the individual from wearing a protective mask or military headgear are disqualifying.
b. Loss or absence of the bony substance of the skull (756.0 or 738.1) not successfully corrected by reconstructive materials, or leaving residual defect in excess of 1 square inch (6.45 centimeter (cm)2) or the size of a 25 cent piece is disqualifying.
Neck
a. Current symptomatic cervical ribs (756.2) are disqualifying.
b. Current or history of congenital cysts (744.4) of branchial cleft origin or those developing from remnants of the thyroglossal duct, with or without fistulous tracts, is disqualifying.
c. Current contraction (723) of the muscles of the neck, spastic or non-spastic, or cicatricial contracture of the neck, to the extent that it interferes with the proper wearing of a uniform or military equipment or is so disfiguring as to interfere with or prevent satisfactory performance of military duty, is disqualifying.
