Military Education – How To Get Promoted Faster in the Army

Get Promoted Faster in the Army

July 7, 2017, by Robert Everett – If you ask yourself “how to get promoted faster in the army,” this article is just for you. The promotion to sergeant or staff sergeant can be achieved by earning promotion points (200 maximum) through military education. To gain points, you need to attend military training classes (for example, WLC or BNCOC, etc.). You can also earn 100 points through civilian education (some, but not all colleges and universities provide such programs). You can earn 10 extra points if you complete a college degree while being on active duty.

WLC (Warrior Leader Course)

WLC (ex. PLDC) is one of Army schools worth promotion points. It is a leadership course for NCOs (Non-Commissioned Officers). The course teaches Specialists and Corporals how to lead groups. It is extremely intensive, but definitely worth it. Moreover, it promotes Soldiers to Sergeants. The students live at the Academy during the courses. They learn Leadership, Navigation, Warfighting, etc. How fast can you rank up in the army? Only one month, and you are promoted. For promotion Army Soldiers want to get, this course is compulsory.

ALC (Advance Leaders Course)

ALC (ex. BNCOC) is one more course you have to take once you become an NCO (Non-Commissioned Officer). It is just another school you need to attend in order to be promoted further. Here you will be trained as a squad leader also. It is pretty similar to the previous military school. However, this course is longer – 90 days, thus, it is not a very intensive course. Nevertheless, this is also a way for you how to rank up in the army.

ATRRS (Army Training Requirements & Resources System)

ATRRS is basically Army individual e-Learning. Online training is a very easy and efficient way to learn. There is an online support team. It will help you with any problems, and answer all your questions, concerning the course.

In addition, there is one more program OAP (Officer Accession Program), which can promote you to Warrant Officer.

Overall, if you are still not convinced, that you need to attend military courses and get a promotion, this article will be interesting for you: https://www.militaryspot.com/community/10-reasons-attend-professional-military-education-courses.
