The Air Force’s Special Tactics teams consist of airmen from four different career fields: Combat Controllers, Pararescuemen, Special Operations Weathermen and Tactical Air Control Party. Combat Controller
Trained FAA air traffic controller who deploys first into hostile or denied territory to survey and secure assault and landing zones. They can guide in military aircraft or direct precision attack from fighters and bombers.
Pararescuemen
Trained paramedic who can locate and save injured personnel in any environment on the planet. They can defend their patients and themselves during combat or special operations missions
Special Ops Weatherman
Meteorologist who provides immediate and accurate weather information and forecasts deep behind enemy lines. They are proficient in a multitude of lightweight weather and communications equipment in addition to weapons.
Tactical Air Control Party
Performs and manages tactical air control party (TACP) operations. They provide Air Force assistance and expertise in planning and controlling combat air resources. They also operate and supervises communications nets to support army ground maneuver units
