USS Abraham Lincoln Departs Thailand

SEPTEMBER 8, 2026 – Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), flagship of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 3, and embarked staffs and accompanying strike group units departed Thailand following a scheduled port visit, Sept. 6.

The strike group’s visit to the Si Racha and Pattaya region and its ongoing operations in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations illustrate the value placed in allies and partners and the United States’ long-term commitment to the region.

“We would like to thank the people of Thailand for their incredible hospitality,” said U.S. Navy Capt. Dan Keeler, Abraham Lincoln’s commanding officer. “This port visit to Pattaya was a tremendous opportunity for this crew to recharge and a highlight for the strike group. Thailand has such a rich culture and history, coupled with incredible hospitality, and that all shone through in this port visit. We are grateful to our Thai allies for hosting us, and we look forward to continuing our mission here in 7th Fleet, alongside Thailand and our other regional allies and partners.”

While in Pattaya, nearly 5,000 Sailors and Marines from across the strike group experienced all the sights and sounds Thailand has to offer, deepening their understanding of the Thai people and strengthening interpersonal bonds.

The Navy’s Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) program worked with local Thai businesses to organize tours and events throughout the local area, allowing personnel to make the most of their port visit.

The Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group is conducting routine operations in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. Units assigned to U.S.7th Fleet conduct continuous patrols to deter aggression, strengthen alliances and partnerships, and advance peace through strength.
