Navy Installations Host Free Concerts

AUGUST 10, 2026 – Navy Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) is turning up the volume with Operation MWR, a worldwide concert series bringing free, live entertainment to Service members and their families at 50 Navy installations through April 2027.

Following successful concerts featuring Kane Brown and Russell Dickerson at Naval Air Station Pensacola in April and Brett Young at Naval Base Guam in June, the series picks up in earnest on Aug. 8 at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island with Fitz and The Tantrums and special guest Alana Springsteen.

Operation MWR is an enterprise-wide resiliency program that provides Service members and their families opportunities to recharge, connect and enjoy time together. Through concerts and other recreational events, the program promotes work-life balance, strengthens community fellowship and supports the readiness and resilience of the Navy community.

“Quality of Service is about ensuring our Sailors and their families have the support, connections and opportunities they need to thrive,” said Vice Adm. Scott Gray, Commander, Navy Installations Command. “Programs like Operation MWR help reduce stress, strengthen unit and family support networks, and sustain the personal resilience Sailors need to meet demanding operational requirements. Taking care of our people helps ensure they are prepared to answer the call when and where the Navy needs them.”

Confirmed upcoming concerts include:

  • Aug. 8, 2026 — Naval Air Station Whidbey Island: Fitz and The Tantrums with special guest Alana Springsteen
  • Aug. 9, 2026 — Naval Base Kitsap: Fitz and The Tantrums with special guest Parmalee
  • Aug. 29, 2026 — Naval Station Norfolk: Teddy Swims with special guest Miranda Lambert and opening act DJ Vito
  • Sept. 11, 2026 – Naval Weapons Station Crane: Preston James and Band
  • Oct. 2, 2026 — Naval Support Activity Saratoga Springs: Michael Kent
  • Oct. 10, 2026 — Naval Base San Diego: Artist announcement forthcoming
  • Oct. 17, 2026 — Naval Station Great Lakes: DJ Diesel, also known as Shaquille O’Neal
  • April 30, 2027 — Naval Air Station Panama City: Artist announcement forthcoming

Additional performers, installations and concert dates are being confirmed and will be announced throughout the series.

Operation MWR events are free for all eligible MWR patrons. Advance registration is not required in most cases, but space may be limited at some venues and admission will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Event requirements and access procedures may vary by installation.
