Those who are in the military usually don’t get snack foods unless someone sends a care package. Send your loved one a bulk supply of their favorite snacks so that they will last for a few weeks. You need to properly package them according to shipping details so that they arrive safely. Cookies and crackers are good ideas. You might also put some seasonings in the package to help them enjoy any bland food they have to eat.
Scrapbooks
It’s a good idea to keep a scrapbook of family and friends your loved one is away from home. Take pictures of special events and little things in life that are sometimes missed on a daily basis. In the meantime, however, send them a mini scrapbook or newsletter each month so that the person will be able to keep up with life back home through pictures and stories you include.
