The 2011 Military Travel Per Diem Rates have increased from the 2010 rates. The rates have been adjusted to $77 and is considered an average for a daily rate lodging expense. The rate for reimbursement on food and expenses have not changed from 2010 and will range from $46-71 for meals per day depending on your location.
The current reimbursement rates for Privately owned vehicles (POV) are as followed:
- Airplane - $1.29 per mile.
- Privately owned automobile - $0.51 per mile
- Government-owned vehicle (if available) - $0.19, or
- Motorcycle - $0.48 per mile.
