DECEMBER 5, 2018
To all of our Soldiers, It’s that time of year
We honor and celebrate those we hold dear
At Army Warrior Care, the stories we share
Send a message to all of how much we care
No wrapping is needed. No tinsel or bows
Taking care of our Soldiers, at this we are pros!
At Transition Units, the staff all do strive
To help and support our Soldiers to thrive.
Trying to find that new normal is one valiant way
To help our heroes and families face each new day.
Therapy, education, outings and such
We give gladly to each, who gave us so much.
Our wounded, ill and injured all have a place
They will not be ignored, no that’s not the case
Honoring our country’s promise to care
For their needs and recovery it’s only fair.
Struggles and triumphs like you’ve never seen
Have highlighted this year of 2018!
The art of exhibiting courage and saying Yes I can
Are stories that started this year’s great plan
Army Trials at Fort Bliss showed what can be done
When wounded Warriors work hard for that spot to be won
40 made up the team for Warrior Games
Carrying with them The Army Name
We honored our Nurses whose help we adore
They give unconditionally yet still we ask more
WCT has many moving parts
Including our Advocates who have really big hearts!
Physical therapy had many victories too
Helping Soldiers see what more they can do
Adaptive reconditioning got Soldiers back in the fight
Overcoming many obstacles with all of their might.
For some it was victory at Warrior Games
And two in particular had special claims
The “Ultimate Warrior” title to hold
We proudly had two, one bronze and one gold
The Career Skills Program added something new
More jobs for our Soldiers in the WTU.
For some The Next Chapter shared in a clear voice
“Together by chance, United by choice”
Invictus Games in Australia where the world competed
Team U.S. won BIG – they were not defeated
Games brought challenge to athletes of all sorts
Showing how far they’ve come with the power of sports
As always we honor our Caregivers true
Who sacrifice unselfishly in all they do
A Soldier’s recovery is what we all wish
To take away stress, and all that anguish.
This Holiday Season it’s our hope you’ll know
Endless love and support we always will show
To our Soldiers who deserve it forever it will be
An honor and privilege to serve you.
