April 04, 2014, San Diego, CA – V.E.T. is an entrepreneurial pilot program produced and supervised by San Diego based non-profit Honoring Our Troops and Lizard Brain/Monkey Mind.
Productions, a local organization whose principals have 70+ years experience working with small business owners. V.E.T. is dedicated to supporting returning vets, particularly veterans with service connected disabilities to help them start and maintain small businesses.
The current job market is challenging for veterans. Studies show that unemployment among veterans ages 24-35 is as high as 17%.
V.E.T operates as a mind master/think tank, bringing together local small business experts to discuss topics such as legal, taxes, hiring, management, and other small business issues relevant to the beginning entrepreneur.
“American greatness is built on small businesses. We know many veterans have the skills to be successful entrepreneurs”, says Vicki Garcia, founder of Marketing Impressions and Lizard Brain/Monkey Mind Productions, “V.E.T wants to support vet startups”.
Accountability is key to the success of the program, therefore participants are required to commit to a minimum of twelve weeks. Participation is free to any vet that meets the screening criteria and makes a commitment to attend the twelve weeks.
