RAF MILDENHALL, England — The United Kingdom is renowned for its ancient castles, European architecture and as being the cradle for much of Western society.
One less common piece of information is that England is one of the most ‘haunted’ islands in the world.
For some, the supernatural is a theme that’s not taken very seriously. To others, it’s very real. However, for most of America, the month of October closes yearly with Halloween, a festival of the supernatural that originated in Ireland.
Through the month of October, the 100th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs Office will share stories of the supernatural as they unfold tales of haunting on RAF Mildenhall, nearby bases and the local community.
Some of the stories will be first-hand accounts of base personnel or locals. Other stories will be tales told in local public houses and whispered on school playgrounds. Yet all stories will share one common theme – they’ll entertain readers from one chilling encounter to the next, until Halloween creeps upon you.
Welcome to RAF Mildenhall and Suffolk, England — you’ve just entered the RAF Mildenhall Fright Zone!
Stay tuned as the 100th ARW PA brings you the first RAF Mildenhall Fright Zone with a history of Halloween. This spooky series will run until Halloween 2011.
