WASHINGTON — Marine Online launches a charity event system that will automate management of the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society’s donation process.
According to MARADMIN 100/12, the new system offers a streamlined contribution method for Marines and sailors who want to donate to this year’s NMCRS Active Duty Fund Drive.
The drive will begin March 1 and continue until April 30. During this time, Marines will be prompted about the fund drive upon logging onto MOL, and given an opportunity to electronically donate to the fund. NMCRS will be notified via email once a Marine chooses to donate.
Unit commanders or representatives will have access to reports showing who in their unit has not been notified via MOL. Those Marines will still be given the opportunity to donate using the same methods as previous years fund drives.
The new charity system will raise awareness about the fund drive and enable contact for all active duty Marines.
Last year NMCRS raised more than $19 million in donations. Those funds went towards more than 96,000 Marines, sailors and family members who received financial assistance.
This year’s NMCRS slogan is ‘We are Marines and sailors caring for our own since 1904.’
