The U.S. Navy wants to reward you for all of your hard work and dedication in helping to protect America’s freedom at home and abroad.
The main component of your Navy pay is based on grade and time in service. It is computed using your “pay date”.
Navy service members can find their pay dates located in the top line of their Leave and Earnings Statement (LES). The LES may be accessed by logging on to My Pay.
Current and past basic pay information may be found at Defense.gov. Navigate to the appropriate pay tables for Active Duty or Reserve drill pay.
In addition to your basic pay you will be compensated for specialty assignments as well.
In general annual military pay raises are linked to the increase in civilian wages. However current laws governing annual pay raises no longer guarantee that military pay will be at automatically set above civilian average pay increases. A 1.4% pay raise for servicemembers went into effect on January 1, 2011.
