The Base-X company displays a range of tents in front of Lejeune Hall to show local Marines and commands new technology available. The shelters range in size from personal tents to Corps-level Command and Control complexes. Base-X shelters of all sizes offer the same high level of interconnectivity, durability, and ease of deployment. (USMC photo)

The Base-X expedition shelter is self-contained as opposed to the old general-purpose tent, which came in several pieces and required individual poles to be place in order to set it up.
