Channel to the Military Channel on Monday,
January 10, 2005. The network's revamped
slate of series and specials is designed to
take viewers "behind the lines" to tell
personal stories and offer in-depth
explorations of military technology, battlefield strategy,
aviation and history.

Channel's new series MY WAR DIARY goes
behind the lines with
never-before-seen personal videos and
exclusive interviews with soldiers who
documented their experiences in the
Middle East. Premiering the
Friday before Veteran’s Day, November
10 at 9 PM ET/PT, episodes
will include intense battle scenes
straight from a soldier's point of
view, a glimpse at military life in
Iraq and Afghanistan during down time
and reflections on the emotional
strain of being far from home.

these real moments of real people
living in a war zone not seen on the

serving our country overseas in
unfiltered stories told by and for

Personal camcorders capture the
camaraderie among units deployed in
the Middle East, including the moments
rarely seen in between daily
activities, IEDs, mortar attacks and
convoy treks. Other diary submissions
provide an up-close view of operations
with in-the-moment commentary from the
soldiers themselves. Upcoming
episodes feature: Sgt. Richard
Llewellyn of Albany, N.Y., who chases
and captures an insurgent who shot at
an American; a rap song spoof about
Ramadi performed by Staff Sergeants
Josh Dobbs and Matt Wright of Muncie,
Ind.; the first free election day in
Iraq in more than 50 years as
documented by 1st Lt. Bryan Suits and
Cpl. Phillip Holt of the Washington
National Guard; and Sgt. Nelson
Quintana of Miami, Fl., who responds
to a car bomb explosion.
The videographers provide interviews
that add context to how and when
videos were developed, and family
members recount what it meant to see
such candid moments of loved ones.

Encore episodes of MY WAR DIARY
will air as part of a Veteran's Day
marathon on November 11. During
Veteran's Day weekend, Military
Channel will also broadcast exclusive
segments with Members of Congress who
previously served in the military. In
each segment, Senators and
Representatives from both sides of the
aisle relay personal stories and
salute current members of the Armed
Forces.
