The next step after Basic Combat Training is Advanced Individual Training (AIT). This is where you will learn the skills to perform your Army job (MOS).
The US Army has many AIT schools. The AIT school you attend will depend on the specific MOS or job for which you are preparing. During AIT you will receive hands-on training and field instruction to make you an expert in your chosen field. In addition you will learn discipline and develop the work ethic necessary to perform your job. This invaluable skill will follow you in civilian life.
